stuff and things

right now it's 7:58 pm and i'm waiting for the newest episode of NCIS to come on. I also thought i'd empty some of the thoughts that have been clouding my head. there are many, so stay tuned. this will be broken up into non-labeled sections of rambling.

Last thursday, october 8th, heather and i went to cambridge to tt the bear's place for the HUMANWINE Mass Exodus CD Release Party! It was glorious. on the way there heather and i passed this man holding a chainsaw in one hand and a 'free kitten' sign in the other. i wish we had thought to take a picture. there was also a man at tt's who looked exactly like martin luther king, jr. i tried all night to take an incognito photo all night but failed. but it was hilarious. What Time Is It Mr. Fox? was the first opening band. I had never heard them before but they were awesome. Some of their members are in this other band called the army of broken toys. they are also fucking rad. walter sickert who is in the army of broken toys was there too. as was most of the army of broken toys. if they weren't in the audience they were playing in what time is it mr fox? the second opener was ketman. they're also pretty awesome but its hard to understand what they are singing because they tend to scream their words and everything sounds jumbled together. then before HUMANWINE played, this kid named dave magario who played with holly and m@ in worcester a few weeks prior played the guitar and sang. he has an amazing voice and his songs are awesome. it was his first time playing in cambridge/being at tt's. you can check out his music myspace here: http://www.myspace.com/dmagario
after that HUMANWINE played an awesome set. some old old favorites and some fairly new ones and others that were even newer than new! It was awesome and the last time i'll hear them before they come back from the west coast after the winter. the only drawback to this was this really loud obnoxious extremely intoxicated chick behind me. she also had some kind of an accent. i don't know if it was real or brought on by the amount of alcohol she consumed. i was blocking her out fairly well until she started screaming in my ear. but i managed to ignore her and i had an awesome time. now, remember that man i mentioned earlier with the chainsaw? Well heather and i passed that same place on the way home and we saw the sign again, but sans chainsaw, thankgoodness.

i'm sure i have mentioned my truck at some point. since after the accident. if not, to make a long story short, the check engine light (CEL) went on about a week or so after my truck was put back together again so i brought it to the garage i bought it from, the dodge/chrysler dealership a half mile up the street because it also needed a lube/oil/filter change. they changed the oil and all that and they said there were two possible things wrong regarding the CEL. one they could fix, one they could not because they are not a mazda dealership. they fixed the one they could and reset the light. well two-ish weeks later it came back on. and i have been driving on it for two weeks or so risking my life/truck not knowing what was wrong. well, on friday...the ninth of october, i called the mazda dealership in raynham because the one in fairhaven is kind of shady/not given good reviews. i brought my truck there monday (yesterday) thinking that whatever was wrong was not going to cost more than 3 to 5 hundred dollars at the most. This is where i was extremely wrong. the pipe from my gas tank to the gas cap where you put the fuel in was completely rusted/rotted out, the transmission and coolant fluids had not been flushed and replaced ever and the filter/oil in the differential had also never been replaced AND i needed new windshield wiper blades. So because most of this is important to the function of my truck...like EVERYTHING minus the windshield wiper blades I had it all done. The grand total was one 100, 200, 300, 400, or 500...it was ELEVEN HUNDRED FORTY-FIVE and thirty-three cents. yes, $1,145.33. My parents had to charge it to a card that doesnt have a balance so that i can pay it off in chunks as i don't have a credit card, and i dont have 11 hundred dollars laying around. well i do, but thats like all my money put together and i'd be left with nothing at all. so yeah, im choosing to pay this off in chunks. its putting me in the hole though...because instead of saving to save i have to save to pay this shit off. i'm not going into the red. im still well in the black but i would rather be saving my money just to save. for either you know...LIFE, or even to go to hollywood, or seattle or anywhere but the tri-town.

anyway, i have so much to do still and zero time to do it in.

more later.

thank you so much for blogging about the kitten/chainsaw guy and the mlk lookalike. i forgot to mention them in my blog.

i'm sorry mandy cost so much to repair, but good thing she is better now. i'm really hoping grace has no major problems within the next year.

HAHAHA! YES! I could not resist talking about the chainsaw/kitten dude & the MLK jr lookalike haha. :-P

I also hope grace has no major problems within the next year...same with mandy...especially because she's been so good to me already. the most expensive things ive had to buy her so far have been four new tires and this new tube from the gas tank to the place you put the fuel in./a new cap. haha.
