I guess i'll stop beating around the bush and get to it.
right.
I. Hibernia outings on Sunday's/Irish Music
every sunday (or rather, every sunday we can) heather and i go to the hibernia in new bedford for the irish music session between 4 and 7 pm every sunday. we went last week but it was closed for some unknown reason. we went this past sunday and we met up with phil who was in new bedford. it was awesome and just what i needed after working a marathon six days in a row. in the past i've had to work many more days in a row but it was at a crappy job doing nothing. since at the job i have now at dunkin, ive never had to work that many days in a row before with out one day off inbetween. its nuts but it'll do for now. more on that later.
right. back to the hibernia.
it's an awesome place to be on sunday afternoons. you can sit there for a few hours and relax and listen to good music. heather and i had this awesome ap euro teacher in high school who plays the bagpipes at said irish music session. it's awesome. and this lady that plays an instrument for said session (i forget what it is at the moment) invited us to go a half hour early next week and bring friends to learn an irish dance or something. it should be interesting. and bertha, my prized picture taking digital slr companion will accompany us on said journey. oh, it will be epic. yes it will.
II. Car accidents and why they should be avoided at all costs.
One word to take care of this: HEADACHE.
right, i suppose y'all will want more detail.
On july 19, 2009 i was involved in a motor vehicle accident in which the front of my truck got banged up. The other car's rear back got banged up. The process in which one must go through after an accident is ridiculous. and time consuming. and causes many headaches.
After the accident and convincing the EMT's/Fire/Police that I was not feeling any pain, was not bleeding, did not hit my head, I spoke to an officer and answered all his questions. After the tow guys came and towed the cars away, i went home to try and figure out all this stuff. since my parents were away out of state, i called them to let them know what happened, and that i was ok, but didn't even know where to begin to straighten up this mess and figure things out. so i first called the police station in the town in which said accident took place. the person who answered left a message for the officer i spoke to at the accident scene. after an hour or so, he called me back and answered my questions and told me i had to fill out papers which i could pick up tomorrow. And he also told me i wasn't being cited for anything which was awesome and i had nothing to worry about. (yeah, right buddy..little did he know it was my first accident. i was scared. and i had no idea what to do).
this all happened on my way home from work. that night i went out to the hibernia with heather and our friend sam for the first time. this is when we decided to make it a regular event. it was a good decision.
right. stop getting sidetracked.
luckily i had the next day off of work. i spent that day getting my truck out of the tow yard, filling out crash reports and running all over and going to the insurance agent so they could file the papers with the insurance company. i spent the whole day on the phone and it was ridiculous. i tried to get a copy of the police report from the officer at the desk, but apparantly they don't give those out. BUT it turns out they do. long story short, they explained the process to my father when he asked the same question i did. but they told me that the insurance company filed for it and they didn't give it to me. but they would give one to me/my dad for five bucks. yeah. I dont know. it's weird. it seems they almost wouldnt give me one because they might have thought they could jerk me around because i am young and a female. whatever.
this is also about the time the other woman's insurance company started calling me. they haven't returned any of my calls back. hmmm.
then eventually the insurance people came to price out the damage and it wound up repairable so the autobody towed it away and fixed it. and i got it back just an hour ago. FINALLY. HORRAY!
Before:
After: I took pictures but i am not going to post them due to the fact that my license plate is readable in all and i'm too lazy to blur it out. maybe one day soon when i stop being lazy i'll either take another photo OR i'll blur out the license plate.
To make a long story short, my truck looks amazing and I'm happy with the way it turned out.
And the moral of the story is....DONT GET INTO AN AUTOMOBILE ACCIDENT!
III. Life/Job hunting/that girl who is suing her college for not finding her a job.
Life is alright. I can't really complain too much. I have employment for now, even if its just at my summer job. i got word from my boss i can stay on until i find a job.
job hunting isnt going too well. i wish i could say differently. keeping my fingers crossed and hoping something comes up.
that girl who is suing her college for not finding her a job....is DUMB!
to make a long discussion type thing short, i don't think its the college's responsiblilty to find her employment, it's hers. they can provide tools such as resume building, mock interviews and tips on how to dress and stuff but they cant find her a job. imagine if everyone sued their college for not finding them employment. ridiculous, eh? yeah, that's what i thought. i posted a link to the article about this on my facebook about a week ago or so. there was a discussion going on via comments there if you know me personally and are interested. hyeah.
well, folks. sorry to disapoint you yet again in the length of this blog. it certainly wasnt short, but I tried. i really did.
right.
until next time.
