i am 22 years old.
it started december 10th, three days early.
this is somehow fitting.
on thursday/friday I went up to north adams to visit friends and celebrate my birthday/nikita's birthday with friends. it was a lot of fun. it was so nice to see most everybody. i miss each and every one of you and i'm so sad i live far away from you all! we went to friendly's and ate food, had ice cream and i got to see ben/val's new apartment and stay there. it was awesome! (thanks again guys!!! :) )
friday evening, i drove home and went to bed because i had to work saturday. this was the only not fun part of the whole weekend haha.
after work i came home and took care of some things (also not fun), and then saturday evening i met heather up in cambridge and we went to see brian viglione (you may know him from the dresden dolls or world/inferno friendship society) play with The (newly revised) Cliks! (to see photos, go to my facebook and find the appropriately titled album) It's actually just called The Cliks, but i stuck in newly revised, because they are revamped. Brian plays the drums and tobi parks plays the bass (and has an awesome bass clef tattoo on her arm!) and of course Lucas Silveira sings/plays guitar! Before they tore up the stage, two other bands did the exact same thing (tore up the stage that is)
Mrs. Danvers opened first. They are an all female quintet and are awesome! You should go to myspace right now and type in Mrs. Danvers in the search box and go listen to them. They are rad!
Hunter Valentine played next. They are also awesome! And had a female drummer. I liked them, but they weren't my favorite to tell you the truth, the lead singer did that screaming thing and i didn't care for it, but the music was still good and peppy!
Then The Cliks tore up the stage like you wouldn't believe! It was wonderful to be exposed to new music. Brian tore up the drums as usual and was amazing. And Tobi is a kick ass bass player. I couldn't really get many good pics of her because she jumped around/moved around a lot. She's really good. Lucas is also an awesome guitarist/singer/songwriter. Each and every one of them is extremely talented and I'm sooo glad I went to this show. I really hope they play in the area again because I will totally be there.
After the show, i got a Cliks cd and heather and i talked to/got hugs/handshakes from brian who dove under a table to greet us. And I also met tobi! She's awesome! And i didn't get to meet lucas because he was busy talking to people/selling merch :-P I hope I get to actually meet him someday because he's awesome.
People, you need to go look up the cliks and see them! THEY ARE AMAZING!!!!!!
after this, we went home and I went to bed.
got woken up at 8:30 to have breakfast with the family. we went to ihop. i had gingerbread pancakes. yummy.
Then heather and i were going to go to the hibernia and meet up with phil, but that didn't pan out as the hibernia was closed. BOOOOO! But heather and I went to her house and hung out with Holly Brewer (my birth day buddy!) of HUMANWINE, her husband and their friends via the internet! We played interactive cranium where they would act out/sing/draw things and we the people on the internet would guess by typing in what we thought they were doing. YES, it was AWESOME. You should be jealous. :-P
i'm going to have a family celebration when my sister gets home.
